Clara Jane has BIG newth (news)!

The tooth fairy is going to have to file for a bailout from the US government because Clara Jane lost TWO teeth tonight!

20090630-001wb

They have be oh so loose for a while but tonight was the night ... both of came them out in one epic night.

Want to know the best part?  (for me anyway) She has the most adorable LISP.  I have been thinking of S words like Sunshine for her to entertain us with.

She just said: "Mrs Dickenth will love that i losth bof my teef" (translation: Mrs. Dickens will love that I lost both my teeth).

And then "why can't i thay etheth?" (translation: Why can't I say S's?)

Ah ... well there is the update ... now i gotta get two very excited kids back in bed.

P.S. Sloan is walking around proclaiming that his teeth are falling out too! LOL

P.S.S. Sloan has started referring to Clara Jane as "My Sister" and addressing her as "Sweetie!" *Love*

latest layouts and a lovely client

Here are some of my latest scrapbook pages.  They are very flat for my typical taste.  Simple actually.  It felt good making them and I am happy with them so maybe the tides are changing a bit in my style.

not sure why these look crooked here ... they have been measured 20 ways to sunday in real life.  I assure you they are straight :)

Now for a pretty little girl, one of my clients, whose picture I love to look at ... she has the sweetest curls and adorable personality!

summer sunday night

The kids got fishing poles ... a request they made a long time ago.  I caved and bought them Wednesday afternoon.  They had a blast Wednesday night and Thursday night learning to cast with Slade in the front yard and from the boat (the back of Slade's truck).  Then the rain started (literally and figuratively for those of you who know us).  Friday and Saturday were a total wash much to their dismay.  So late this evening as the sun was setting we took the kids back out to play with their fishing poles.  Once the get the technique down Slade is going to actually take them fishing but for now we are learning the basics.

Oh and I have a new obsession ... or maybe interest is a better word.  I stop by Noel's blog occasionally and I love her girl's creative hair styles.  So today I decided to try one myself.  It looked pretty good for a first try and actually better than this when it was fresh ... this is after about 6 hours of playing.  CJB loves it ... is sleeping in it in fact in hopes that she can wear it again tomorrow.  We'll see.

This blog has TONS of great ideas I will be trying on my little hair diva soon.

Here is looking forward to a new week and a fresh start.

Too Funny Not to Share

blame it on the rain

i got this song in my head recently because i have been blaming lots of things on the rain ...

Blame it on the Rain that was fallin' fallin'

Whatever you do ... don't put the blame on you

Blame it on the Rain Yeah! Yeah!

blame it on the rain ... that my joints ache

blame it on the rain ... that i can not stay on a set work schedule

blame it on the rain ... that all i want to do is curl up with a good book or scrapbook

blame it on the rain ... that my flowerbeds are full of weeds

blame it on the rain ... that my car is dirty

blame it on the rain ... that my kids are cranky and have cabin fever

blame it on the rain ... that i have no tan what-so-ever

blame it on the rain ... that my kids have not been to the pool yet

blame it on the rain ... that i feel sorta grumpy

blame it on the rain ... that i have seen a million movies and tv shows

blame it on the rain ... that my KIDS have seen a million movies and tv shows

blame it on the rain ... that i have logged more internet time than i have in my entire life

blame it on the rain ... did i mention my knees and elbow are killing me? oh sorry

blame it on the rain ... that my kids can't go swimming ... oh? I said that too didn't I?

blame it on the rain ... that i have started to repeat myself

Now here i go in my best lip-sync ...

You can blame it on the rain

 'cause the rain don't care

and the rain don't mind

you gotta blame it on somethin'

summer fav

Well it is officially summer! I have been relieved of my Room Mom duties and now get to focus on my family and my business full time.  We have been working really hard to get the kids to eat a wide range of foods and not be picky eaters.  I am not critical of other people's kids who are picky so please don't be offended.  I just am determined to only prepare one meal a night around this place.  It would be nice if everyone ate!

Anyway, to accomplish this goal we joined a fruit and vegetable co-op.  Every 2 weeks members from our co-op go to the farmer's market and buy in bulk for all the families involved.  So every 2 weeks we end up with a HUGE laundry basket full of assorted fruits and veggies.  Some we love, some not so much, and some we have never tried.  We use it ALL and the kids have started enjoying a much larger variety of foods.  I am not going to pretend that it has been without drama but it has happened and we are all pretty happy!

So the biggest surprise is that one of their new favorite foods has become Pico de Gallo and Guacamole.  I have basically been using this recipe adding a dollop of sour cream to the guac.  It is insane to me that they love it - it is loaded with tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, lime, avocado .... but they love it the same.

So tonight I decided to round out their new top request with a treat.  Sarah, my favorite Pampered Chef guru, gave me this awesome recipe and it is super yummy and fab for summer.  I thought I would share it with you.

It is awesome, sweet, alcohol free and fun ... it was a big hit at our house tonight!

Happy

Fail! I did not post every day of the month like I had hoped but I did pretty good. Good for me that is.

I found this quote this weekend in my notes from a Stacy Julian class and it really spoke to me so I had to share it with you.

"If you observe a really happy man you will find him building a boat, writing a symphony, growing double dahlias in his garden, or looking for dinosaur eggs in the Gobi Desert.  He will not be searching for happiness as if it were a collar button that has rolled under the radiator. He will not be striving for it as a goal in itself.  He will have become aware that he is happy in the course of living life 24 crowded hours of the day."   Dr. W. Beran Wolfe, The Treasure Chest

I love it ... so inspiring, simple, and true.  Happiness can not be found.  Happiness is.

Now just because it ties in to the quote ... in my warped mind anyway ... I spent my National Scrapbook Day organizing, overhauling, re-organizing, and purging my scrapbook things.  That is how I happened across the quote.  Feeling good!

Take a few minutes and read this.  It is a very worthy read.  A personal testimony about loosing everything and gaining what you never knew you needed.
